Description

These classes are designed for students who need English for working in food and beverage operations such as one of our partner restaurants. It includes learning most frequently used language in catering contexts. The course has been developed by our English language teachers in conjunction with our specialist Gastronomy expert and qualified chef. We deliver both classroom based learning as well as workshops and practical sessions in our partner restaurant and kitchen. The minimum study time for the course is a week, although we recommend a month to fully explore the language and practical elements of the course.

The course features the following topics, which can be adapted to suit the needs of individual learners or groups:
General Gastronomy Introduction
Cookery presentations (Describing how a dish is made/served)
Food and ingredient descriptions
A healthy diet and food types
Personal tastes
Serving guests in a restaurant
Health and Safety in the kitchen
Considerations in designing and promoting a restaurant business
The Catering and Hospitality Sector
At the end of the course, successful candidates will receive a certificate of attendance and course completion.

Entry Requirements : You must be 16 years-old or over at the time of registration. You must be A2 Level of the Common European Framework Reference (CEFR) to start the course. You may need a Student Visitor Visa depending on which country you come from.
